Individual & Group Mental Health Counseling

Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis & Treatment (EPSDT)

The EPSDT Program assists youth ages 8 to 17 who have entered, or are at risk of entering, the juvenile justice system and have an identified Axis I mental health disorder that significantly impairs their life functioning. Primary reasons for referral include:

  • criminal activity
  • gang involvement
  • substance use resulting in delinquent behavior
  • repeated truancy, school suspensions, or SARB referral
  • cruelty towards animals
  • property destruction/fire setting
  • fighting resulting in injury
  • assault on peers or adults, including bullying
  • chronic defiance of rules/authority figures (other than parents)
  • associates primarily with much older or deliquent youth
  • involvement in prostitution or human trafficking
  • incarceration or gang involvement of a sibling, parent, or significant caregiver

Youth receive services according to a treatment plan created to meet their individual needs, including specialized approaches such as anger management groups and parent education, as well as outpatient individual, group and family therapy; rehabilitation services; medication support; and case management brokerage. Crisis intervention is provided as needed. Youth and families are connected with medical, social, rehabilitative, or other community services and supports.
